Living life to the fullest is often a misunderstood phrase.
We end up trying to live a full life at work and a full life in our personal space. It might work for a while, but how sustainable is it in the long run?
We begin overdoing things in both areas.
In trying to give our best at work and be fully present for everyone in our personal lives, the lines often blur. Eventually, we find ourselves unable to manage or meet expectations at either end, leading to guilt and the feeling that we’re not being our best selves anywhere.
Over time, we may lose interest in one of the two, or sometimes, both. Of course, we want to give our best in everything. We’ve worked hard to reach where we are. But times change, and things only get more competitive.
We begin making compromises, on the personal front, the professional front, or even both.
Then we realize, those who focused on just one, either work or personal life, weren’t lacking. They simply recognized their strengths early and prioritized what mattered most to them.
That’s when self-care becomes essential.
Before you burn out or lose interest, notice the signs. Understand them, before it’s too late.
Take care of yourself.
Do the things you once loved, before you got caught in the cycle of obligations, deadlines, and the global race, online and off.
You’ll regain your energy. You’ll feel ready again, like when you first started. But now, you’ll also know when to stop and step back, when to change direction, and when to act versus when to simply pause.
Sometimes, just live.
And stop constantly measuring how well you’re living.
Hello world… Design your life!
